Party Animal

...this card is me, today on my birthday.

I really love this fox stamp by Hero Arts - I stamped her, masked her off, then used some Tattered Angels mist for the blue background. Then I roughly colored her in using some Prismacolor watercolor pencils. Topped off with a sentiment from Avery Elle, which fit the occasion perfectly. ;)

Now for some blonde brownies a la mode (super tasty - I love all things that involve maple syrup!), then watching some Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (which I am enjoying much more than the original series)

...wassup? I was sitting at the library, having just finished a computer science test and a Latin quiz, and thought how long it's been since I've blogged, so here I am!
Plus, the winners of the Paper Crafts blog hop haven't contacted me yet, so this is also a little reminder - winners, you have until this Friday (the 12th), to get back to me with your info, otherwise I'll have to pick some new ones!

On to the card, which I made for this months Hero Arts Holiday Cardmaking challenge - it's been so long since I've participated in a challenge, so this feels good. :)

Using an image I made last year when I was going crazy with this stamp set. ;) Love it when I can get into my scrap box and use some up!

Love the snowy, frosted look the glitter gives on the acetate, with those pretty soft gems....

Crimped window frames - seriously, I think this is my old crimper's first appearance on the blog, so let's give it a warm welcome. ;)
For the background, I used a new (to me) technique - that of inking of the image first in Versamark, then Ranger ink, an easy way of getting a colored embossable sentiment/image.

And of course the sentiment in a banner - I pretty much always go with banners when I'm not sure where else to stick the sentiment. ;)

Butterflies

I used to be obssessed with putting them on cards, but it's actually been a long time since I used one.
So when I saw this weeks Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger (I usually don't play, but honestly, it was hard not to after seeing the gorgeous inspiration pic)...

...I couldn't help myself.
Here is my take...

 The sentiment is embossed for a little more interest (and I went with the 'get well' sentiment because I never seem to have those on hand when I really need them)

Butterflies. Colors. I don't think it's hard to see how I was inspired. ;) I actually didn't have an orange, but I did have a small Colorbox Cat's Eye with a yellow I wasn't crazy about. So I inked up first with Worn Lipstick, then went over with the yellow inkpad. The yellow ink got contaminated, but since I didn't like the shade anyways, no harm was done.

And while we're at it, this card is also for this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge.

Well, I'm off to finish graduation party plans, trip to Europe plans, playing a game with my youngest brother plans, etc.
