Matryoshka dolls

....I might be a little obssessed with them. ;)
THIS set from Hero Arts has always been a fave with me, and so when they came out with the digi version, I had to have it.
I made one card for the color combo for this months Hero Arts challenge...

...but I didn't stop there...

El numero uno..

Dos.

And tres.

So you could say I'm a little taken with these dolls.
And the Splendor collection making an appearance again (you could also say I'm taken with that paper collection ;))

Oh, and sorry if the photo's look kinda wonky - bad lighting today, but I had to get these up today, as I will probably not be blogging again till after Easter (wonder how long I can keep that resolution?...).

So if I'm not back before then, may I wish you a very blessed Easter!
Thanks SO much for stopping in today!

PS,
Winners for Days 3 and 4 of the giveaway are...

Dawn (embellishments)

and

Judy (tools and alterable objects)

Congrats! Please contact me with your addresses, ladies, and I will try mailing these goodies out asap (though I'm a little swamped with school currently...someone is supposed to be studying for a Psychology CLEP test they're taking tomorrow...cough cough)

For the current SPARKS challenge...

and the inspiration...

and the card...

Totally inspired by the Easter/spring theme and the bright colors - this is my first Easter card ever, because I would only give out cards featuring the real reason for the season (Christ's Resurrection), and I don't usually like making cards I wouldn't give to someone. However, the idea for the card popped into my head as soon as I saw the challenge, so I couldn't resist. Though this card will probably end up gathering dust here in my room (or more likely in the donation box), it was fun to make!

The PS stamps are the basket (digi image enlarged big time) and the sentiment...so pretty much the entire card. :) This card is also for the Moxie Fab World Household Items challenge - I used that plastic Easter grass that we always recycle every year - we probably have some ten year old fake grass still in use. ;)

I'll be back later tonight with some HA cards and the last two blog giveaway winners. :)

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

...and also for the Lily Pad Flower challenge and the Moxie Fab World Household Items challenge (I used a sewing machine for the zipper). :)
Here is the inspiration photo for the blog hop...

So, I was mostly inspired by pretty blue because blue is my second favorite color (after neon green), plus, I don't have any good yellow ink. ;)

I made this under two hours - and for being the worlds slowest crafter (upcoming blog post about a card that took me a year to make), I think that's pretty amazing. ;)

The sentiment in the middle peels away (using a technique I posted about HERE and HERE) to reveal a happy birthday sentiment. Since I didn't want to ruin this card, as I'm sending it to a friend, I used some paper I tried the stamping on first to show you....(this mess is what I get for not testing out my ideas out on scrap paper first ;))

Ta-da! Instant zipper card!
Thanks so much for stopping in today, and have a blessed Sunday!

Hi there! Clare here today to share a super fun and easy project with you. :)

So, if you know me, you know I like love my floral paper, so it's no surprise I'm head over heals for the Splendor collection! My favorite floral paper from this line, and one of my top five all time, is Tiny Blossoms.

Pure sweetness.

Here is one of my first cards made using this paper (and trust me, it is one of many!)...

I usually don't go for homemade paper flowers, but I couldn't resist on this one. :)

A sweet and cute card made using a sweet, adorable paper.

That's all for today, yinz! Thanks so much for dropping in today!

Supplies:
Splendor - Paper: #1685, 1679, 1684

Congratulations

A simple card made using the PTI Simply Jane dies - I have to tell you I'm addicted to these dies, since you haven't seen all the other cards I've made with them yet.
 :)
My brother and SIL's first wedding anniversary is coming up, so I wanted to have a card ready for them...

The sentiment is embossed - I love that Ranger inks can be used for that, and I only discovered it a little while back, while randomly looking at the bottom of the ink pad. Handy dandy, if I do say so. :)

Made for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge (one each of sentiment, pattern, and image) and ABC DT (spring - weddings are very spring ;)).

Thanks so much for stopping in today, and happy feast of St. Joseph!

thankful

...for so many things. :)
It's been a very busy week, and I'm just stopping now to catch my breath. One of the many things keeping me busy is preparing for a ten day pilgrimage to Rome and then three days in France in May! I won a drawing for a sponsorship while attending a young adult group - I was so shocked and surprised! I'd never won anything big before (like a Silhouette - sigh ;)), so you can imagine my surprise winning a $2,800+ sponsorship! I've had some time to recover from my shock though, so now I'm busy preparing for the trip. :)

Anyways, here's a card I made for this weeks Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge

...using that pretty free flower digi along with a digi sentiment...

The soft colors obviously inspired the very light, Neopolitan ice cream like color scheme here, and the wreath itself just made me think of places you usually see them - on doors or windows, so I went with a window pane style here.

Well, my youngest brother is begging me to get off the computer so he can watch Ninjago (a LEGO tv...thing ;)), so I'd best be off.
Thanks so much for stopping in today, and have a blessed Sunday!

Zippy-dee-do-dah

...day! :)

Something fun to share with you today, after a long (or what seems long!) blogging absence. ;)
Okay, so I loved the Papertrey Ink zipper dies idea! But as I have a tight budget, I decided to come with my own version.
So my first (and right now, only) zipper card...

Some twine to tie it off...

Stamped some arrows using the point of a house stamp. ;)

Peel away and...oila!

I was feeling pretty proud of myself, till I thought of an even more fun way.
There was something about actually tearing the strip off on the PTI die version that I really liked, and I figured out how to make a zipper card just like that, without buying the die! I already had some comments on this when I posted it on Flickr, so I videotaped that, as well as the fun ripping technique. ;)

I'll add here that the space in between the holes should be at least as small as the width of the holes, if not smaller. That way it rips easier. :)

Of course, I have to admit, I still want the coordinating stamp set, but I'm satisfied for now. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in today, and have a great week!
