Ombre Kindness // Hero Arts

Another quick card to finish up the month!

For the main panel, I stamped the Forest Background using the Hero Arts Ombre Lime to Forever Green.

I stamped a sentiment from the Acts of Kindness on vellum using some Hero Arts Black ink. Some inks are easy to smear on vellum (though I do have some tips on how to work with those in THIS video), but this ink almost always stamps pretty crisp and easily for me. In both ink cases, I always zap the vellum real quick after stamping to seal the ink in the vellum so it doesn't smear later.

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

Quick Watercolor Scene // Hero Arts

Today's card is based off a set of cards and a video I made a little while back - watercoloring a scene!

I used the Hero Arts Road Trip stamp set to make this quick and loose card - here's the video on how I did the watercoloring.

This card is basically a simplified version of the cards in the video - very quick and easy to make, even for a set!

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

Multi-Occasion Card // Hero Arts

I'm popping in real quick today to share a quick, multi-occasion card.

I stamped the cute mason from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart in Wet Cement ink, then filled it in with the Color Layering Bouquet in Stone Wash, Soft Olive, and Soft Pool.

I stamped the sentiment from the Many Everyday Messages stamp set - you could easily change the sentiment with another sentiment from the same stamp set, and change the flower colors.

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

Coloring Kraft and Vellum // Altenew

Today I have a set of cards and a video that I made quickly the night before I left for my vacation.

Here's a video on how I made the pair...

If you are having problems viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.
I had so much fun finally playing with Altenew's Botanical Garden stamp set! Such a gorgeous set, that I had to play coloring them on kraft and vellum.

For the cards, I embossed the flowers using some pretty copper embossing powder on kraft. I then colored them in with some Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens (I know, it's a mouthful!) - very simply coloring, but these pens work like butter.

I then did the same for the vellum flowers, and cut them out. I hand cut them out, but apparently there are coordinating dies - on my wish list now! ;)

Same card, different orientation! For the sentiment, I wanted the sentiment to be glossy, but I wanted the navy color, so I inked up the sentiment with Versamark first, then with navy ink from Studio Calico. With the stickiness, I was able to emboss the sentiment with clear powder to get that glossy, yet colored, look.

I was inspired by the current Altenew From Places Abroad challenge...

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

Hero Arts 2016 Summer Catalog Blog Hop + VIDEO

Hey all and welcome! Today I'm participating in a fun blog hop, marking the launch of the new Hero Arts 2016 Summer catalog in the Hero Arts online store!

For my cards today, I used the new Road Trip stamp set, and went a little crazy with some quick and lazy watercoloring!

This was so fun to make! To start with, I took a 4.25x5.5 watercolor cardstock panel (larger than I needed, but I like to start big so it's easier to trim down later) and stamped the mountains. The nice thing about the mountain stamp in this set is that, while it doesn't quite cover an A2 card the short way across, it's super easy to continue the mountain "border." I stamped the mountains using Weathered Wood - for the background mountains, I inked up with the same ink, but stamped off on some scratch paper before stamping onto the panel. This way I get a more faded look for those background mountains.

Then I colored the mountains with a mix of Zig Clean Color brushes and Weathered Wood, using a water brush to mix them. There was really no specific way of coloring them, just what I thought looked nice.

Here's another card, using the same concept, except a blue camper...

The trees were stamped haphazardly using a mix of Distress Inks (listed below) and water, to blend it out.
The sky and ground were colored using a mix of Zig Clean Color brushes and Distress Inks as well.

I topped off the campers with some gems, and stamped a sentiment from the Hello Gorgeous stamp set.

To see how really easy this card is to make (and some tips!), here's a video...
