being with you

Hi there!
Quickie post...
I am obsessed with paper piercing right now - I got THIS set from my May HA win with paper piercing in mind. The flower was first on my list to stamp with, and then, these little bees...

The cute bees and the Sugar Pink Boutique-licous ribbon...

And, just like the first card made using these new stamps, I used the 2S4Y sketch.

Instructions:
Cut card base out, as well as rectangle for centerpiece. Round bottom edges of both cut outs. Stamp images twice each onto patterned paper, and cut out. Taking small kraft rectangle, stamp images and sentiment. Adhere cut out images to kraft. Tie bow around card base, than, using foam squares, adhere stamped kraft rectangle. Add half pearl to center of flower.

I used October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop" for the bees and flower, and than "Fly a Kite" for the petals - so sweet, along with that yummy bow.

Thanks for stopping in, and enjoy your weekend!

Happy Bird-day

Hi there!

I have card for THIS weeks SSC Card Challenge - it's a color one, and boy, was it a toughie for me! To get me started, I used THIS weeks Card Patterns sketch....

I love tying this double bow, and using this ribbon...so light and feathery. :)

Instructions:
Cut out card base and patterned paper. Faux stitch checkered paper, then tie bow around. Add half pearls to corners, than adhere circular papers on foam squares. Add bird image, then cut out tag, stamp sentiment, adhere button to top, and adhere that to bow.

This is actually the first real time I've faux stitched - I've used the term before, but incorrectly, as I was using the sewing machine. This time, the sewing machine was broken, so I just used a pin and a blankey to poke the holes. :) Oh, and I so wanted to put "Happy Bird-day", but I didn't have that sentiment. :(
Just want to share with you something that I found over at the HA Flikr group - THIS set. Oh my gosh, I want it SO bad! I already played with the digi stamp, and had SO much fun, so I can't wait to try this "real" set. ;)

I'll be gone from late today to Sunday or Monday, just in case you might wonder why I'm not "ooh-ing" and "ah-ing" all your beautiful creations.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for stopping in!

Lyrical birthday

Hiya!

I have a card today using a challenge I recently discovered - the Shabby Tea Room. I honestly wasn't too excited at first, since I utterly fail when it comes to shabby, but since getting some new, deeeee-licious ribbon from Sugar Pink Boutique, I decided I'd have a go. I also made this for a Flickr gal, Dana C, who is having a vintage contest (RAK up for grabs!). Here's my lighthearted take on it. :)
It isn't exactly "tea" party themed, but the colors remind me of the tea pots/parties my sisters and I would have, and, the card does have polka dots!

Mmmm, love these Making Memories letter stickers....I always liked how they looked on other people's projects, and seeing Valerie's card HERE (a new Flickr friend!) pushed me to finally get some (also, the half off regular price at Michaels didn't hurt....;)).

Instructions:
Cut card base. Adhere patterned paper to base, and sew. Add letter stickers, "birthday" being on foam squares. Stamp butterfly image onto K&Co paper, cut out, and add half pearls. Cut small slit in back of card, threading ribbon through, than tie bow. Adhere button.

First time making this kind of bow...I don't know if I did it right or not, I just kept tying loops...I am seriously addicted to tying bows, as sad as that is. Speaking of ribbon, I saw a tutorial on how to make my own dyed ribbon, using the same material as shown above, so I'm gonna have a go at it - anyone know where I can get Tattered Angels glimmer mist cheaply? ;)

Thanks for popping in!
