Birdhouse

Thanks all for the sweet comments! The computer troubles are almost resolved, though no update on the pictures.
The good thing about having to go about bookmarking blogs over again is I'm finding new ones, or ones I somehow missed before! :)

So anyways, the card...
Made for this weeks Embellish color challenge featuring birds and this months Hero Arts contest. Sorry for the poor photos - weathers been kinda odd here. Gloom and doom (no lighting whatsoever) one day, and now its all bright and sunshiny...really bright (too much lighting). I love the sun, but it's kinda making my photos all glare-ish and...yuck-ish.

See that strip of blue? Well, before stamping, I thought it looked kinda boring, so I wanted to make it look woodgrainy-ish. The sad thing? I don't have Hero Arts woodgrain stamp, or any woodgrain stamps/embossing folders. :( Boo. But then I saw the birdies tail, and just stamped that over and over again on the strip. It looked woodgrainy-ish enough to me, and I was feeling quite clever. :)
But then my Mom said (not knowing what I did) that it looked a lot like the tail. Boo again.

I love this sentiment! It actually goes "Happy Birthday", but I wanted "bird-day", so I did a bit of masking here and there. I've been obsessed lately with taking sentiments and masking them for a differently worded sentiment. Not sure why...? ;)

Thanks for stopping in today, and have a happy hump day!
