Using one of this months Hero Arts sketches...
....the CAS-ual Fridays 'Pretty in Pink' challenge, and the Stamp It! Cards Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World .
I've never done color blocking on a card before, and it was only when I was taking pictures that I realized I had done it - score! One less technique to my to-try list. ;)
I couldn't decide if I wanted the fine glitter or the chunky glitter for the flowers, so I just went with both...
Some little butterflies from the same sentiment stamp set. I didn't have any thick acetate, so I just used some Jenni Bowlin packaging - it may explain why the image didn't come out perfectly, but then again, I don't really know how nice stamped acetate images are supposed to come out as this was the first time I'd done it. ;)
Oh, and one last tip - the stamped sentiment didn't come out that perfect (I think due to my super old Staz-on pad), so I filled in the small splotchy areas with a black Memento marker. I don't know if you're not supposed to mix the two inks or not (I'm a total ignoramus when it comes to inks and their special properties), but it worked fine!
Finally, if you'd like to win some papers from some of the GCD Studio's Winter CHA '12 lines, leave a comment HERE - easy peasy!
Thanks so much for stopping in and have an awesome day!

Love what you did with this sketch! I tried the 2 other sketches this month and just couldn't end up with something I liked.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Did you fussy cut acetate?? Brave girl, LOL! The butterflies look fantastic! I use a Copic multiliner (black fine-tip pen) to fix all sorts of mistakes in stamping. Good call on the Memento marker. :-) Oh, and your first (unintended) attempt at colour blocking worked perfectly. ;-)
ReplyDeletebeautiful card - very classy - looks like a winner to me!
