Lots'o super fabulous, super talented girls there, so make sure you don't miss a blog! ;) You should've come here from Amy's blog - make 110% sure you didn't miss this papercrafting-extraordinaire's blog!
Now on to my project....
I decided to go out of the box (excuse the pun) and make an ornament, and than a box to complete it.
Inside the box....
I didn't have any "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" stamp sentiments, so I had to leave the rest of the sampler blank
Recognize that house? I used it on the last hop - gotta love Hero Arts! :)
The cross-stitched house was only my second attempt at cross-stitching, so the back looks pretty terrible - but I won't show you that! ;)
So, I tried making a video tutorial of the box, but that didn't work out - I was unhappy with how the ribbon came out the first time, so I took it out and messed around with it for about five more minutes....looked kinda dumb on video! ;) Than I actually DID make a video showing the box IRL, and the giveaway, but as I uploaded it to You-tube, it came out all weird and fuzzy. :( If you want to try to 'decode' the fuzzy video and maybe catch a glimpse of the giveaway, than it is HERE.
If you don't have the patience to sit/skip through the funky video, I'll tell what is in the giveaway package; stamps, LOTS of Christmas paper, and pretty embellishments. :)
To be entered in this giveaway;
1. Leave a comment telling me the nicest thing a crafty buddy has done for you this year
2. Become a follower of my blog (if you already are, leave an additional comment)
That's it!
Thanks SO much for stopping in - I hope you're enjoying the hop! Now onto the uber sweet and funny Pryn!

Hello ms clare! I'll have my egg nog now please! Love the box and you did a very good job on your house. I love to cross stitch too.
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing a scrap buddy has done for me was when Rona took me to one of her distributor's open houses and I got lots of free wonderful stuff. It was awesome!
Ok, here is the additional comment for already being a follower. Thanks for all you do for SSC so we can enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful gift Clare!!!
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing a craft buddy has done for me this year was introducing me to the wonderful world of online craft communities. And then I discovered SSC, and all the lovely people here.
ReplyDeleteMy second comment - I became a follower today! Love your little box/gift idea - don't worry, I did also about 2 cross-stitch thingies and decided, I'll rather paint/stamp/stick or such...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration
Clair, I really love your box and you just amaze me with all the things you do with Nestie's. Very pretty gift! Hugzzz Colleen
ReplyDeleteLovely box really unusual, haven't done cross stitch for a while but my christmas lady is back on the wall again for the festive season.
ReplyDeleteBest thing a crafter has done for me is become my buddy via a forum and now I have a like minded friend to share my hobby with, we go to shows together and because it turned out we live close
we also share craft evenings with the odd bottle of wine!
Pat x
2nd comment today is that I have become a follower because looking through your blog I love your ideas and will enjoy keeping up with creations
ReplyDeletewell done you
Pat
WOW...you are one talented girl!! I LOVE both of the box and the ornament. I just can't stop looking at them!!! BTW...no one will see the back so who cares what it looks like, the front looks FABULOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour box is beautiful & I really like the sheet music paper. My Daughter-in-Law is my closet buddy & she made me a Christmas album (paperbag pattern) that is full of pictures of our new grandson. It even has his tiny hand print made into a reindeer. Rumor has it my son was even forced to help out gluing and glittering (Ha!). It sits on display on the mantel & I cry everytime I look at it! Thanks so much for sharing your talent! You have a new "Happy" follower. AJ aj_822@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Clare! I can't wait to try cross-stiching my stamps! I love it, as always you did a fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteAnother great idea for an ornament. I need to get out all my embroidery threads and get busy!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and love the box idea too. Hugs, Sandi
I just love asking scrap buddies for ideas on how to make something.
ReplyDeleteSecond comment because I am a follower. I love to cross stich but i never hang them on the tree. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteYour cross Stitch looks lovely and hopefully later on you can show us how you made your box, it's fabulous!! My Sister helped me clean and organize my craft room and that was a job!!

ReplyDeletemiller896042atbellsouth.net
There is nothing like a homemade gift. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Great gift idea! The nicest thing a crafty buddy has done for me is just simply being a great friend. She's always there for me no matter what and I love her dearly for that! She knows who she is!
ReplyDeleteClare - You and you amazing talent never ceases to totally amaze me! I'm so happy to be taking part in the hop today and glad that that I made it to your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove your work and I wish you lots of continued success!
Hugs and Happy Holidays,

Ooops...I posted before I finished my question....! I am already a follower and very happy to be one.
ReplyDeleteAs for the nicest thing a crafter has done for me this year.....! I received a HUGE RAK a box of yards and yards of wonderful ribbons. All kinds of textures colors and sizes! It was totally amazing and a JOY!!
Clara this is adorable and I love that you cross stitch also!!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great ornament and box!
ReplyDeleteI had several of my crafty friends gift me with some HUGE boxes of supplies when my craft room flooded this spring. it was so generous and unexpected.... and so appreciated! :)
Now following your blog! The nicest thing a crafty buddy has done for me this year is to sit with me and just make art with me. I was feeling uninspired but needed to get some projects done...and she just sat and began to help me as she was working on her own art journal...This inspired me to create some awesome art and cards!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a crafty buddy. So my next best thing would be all the wonderful comments I receive from the ladies at SSC! The fun blog hops, the fabulous prizes and most of all making new friends!
ReplyDeleteI love your projects, I don't know I never thought of cross stitching up some ornaments what a great idea!
Love the cross stitching. It was a passion of mine many years ago. One year I made everyone bread basket covers. It's hard for me to just pick one thing because I have several crafting buddies that meet on a monthly basis, but I think the nicest thing was when were at a weekend crop and she got up VERY early and decorated my table for my birthday! Love ya, Christy!!
ReplyDeleteLove your creation. I used to do cross stitch. I may have to dig out my floss and give it another try. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJust became a follower. The nicest thing a craft buddy has done for me this year is to encourage me to share my creations with everyone, I just started a blog. It's http://dipndotscreations.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeletealso they have encouraged me to start sharing my talents with others, I have started teaching a few card classes at a local LSS. I was afraid at first, but I'm loving it now... Thanks for the chance to win some great goodies....
Neat idea thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteClare, your ornament and box are wonderful! What a neat gift for the lucky recipient! Looks like those of us who used to do counted cross stitch are represented big time here. I am already a follower of yours. As far as crafty friends doing nice things for me, I would have to say that the new friends from SSC who offer so much inspiration and then give back positive and supportive comments would be the nicest experience since I joined the group last spring.
ReplyDeleteHi, Clare! Love your card and ornament! I used to cross stitch like crazy. I still have all of my threads and some fabric. I should try a few things.
ReplyDeleteYou are very talented. I love the box and the cross stitching. Great giveaway too. Your video was nice too even though you had some complications you could hear and view everything just fine. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing - one nice thing - how about all of my scrap buddies from MSW came to Houston (where I live) to crop the weekend away!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower now!

ReplyDeleteStunning creations - I like your box. It is simple to make (something us crafters appreciate at Christmas, lol) and yet so effective.
ReplyDeleteI have become a follower!
The nicest thing a crafter has done for me this year? A friend of mine bought me TWO Tim Holtz stamps when they weren't on sale! It was a spur of the moment decision for her, but I'm very thankful. We spent that day trying to out bless each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift...not only the ornament but the box and I do have the patience to check out the video! Anybody who makes the extra effort to make a video deserves to have it watched. The kindest thing a crafty buddy did was, out of the blue, sent me a gift cert. for $10 to spend on digis...how awesome. She knows I'm having a really tough time right now and just made my day!! I'm a follower!!
ReplyDeleteI became a follower so I get get more great ideas from such a talented lady :) Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so super cute and creative Clare! I love that ornament and box, and of course I love everything you create! Big hugs and much love!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift. I always think that the back of cross stitching doesn't count.
ReplyDeleteVerty cute gift Clare. Simply love it.
ReplyDeletevery cute gift...waiting for my egg nog now. Love your inspirational ideas
ReplyDeletePart 2
ReplyDeleteWhat my friend does for me...gives me a hug when I need it (by email if we can't get together)
I remember starting cross stitching years ago. It's easy to get used to--considering I have done many projects since then. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitched house is adorable! Those knitted animals are super cute!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous projects!
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing a crafty buddy has done for me this year... hmm. This might not count, but my employer took me to Florida in September where I got to take classes from Tim Holtz, Sally Traidman, Claudine Hellmuth and lots more "big names". It was truly the nicest thing anyone has EVER done for me. :)
This is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing a craft buddy has done for me is sent me a tool that I was talking about buying. Thanks for a chance to win.
Just signed up as a follower. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYour box and ornament are very cute! I used to cross stitch...until I started paper crafting! LOL! Don't know that my eyes could do it like they used to now. Thanks for sharing your talent with us today on the hop! I am really enjoying myself! The nicest thing a craft buddy has done for me was to call me on a day I was feeling down and she surprised me with a call and cheered me up!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Clare. Love it. The nicest thing my crafting buddy did was: She motivated me and sent me a surprise Stamp, which I wanted so much but could not buy as I started with stamping this year and had to buy so many things already.
ReplyDeleteAlso I was picked by a buddy for her Candy...my first one in my life.
TFS Clare.
My second post to let you know, I am your follower....Off to watch the video. Thanks for taking time for it.
ReplyDeleteOMG this is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHave become a follower....the nicest thing a friend did for me was to introduce me to Copic markers. Your sampler is cute!! Good for you.

ReplyDeleteSorry Clare! That last post was from me and had a mistake in it. Love your art. Already am a follower. I have some blog buddies who surprise me with their art--an ATC, a card, a gift box---always a nice surprise to be thought of.
ReplyDeleteFabulous gift - someone will be very lucky to receive it!
ReplyDeleteClare for your seond time or ANY yime at cross stitching, this is INCREDIBLE!!!!! The fact that you used a stamp as your pattern is GENIOUS!!!! LOVE the box and your video...fuzzy and all! YOU ARE AMAZING!!! LOVE YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm your 159th follower! :) Your cross stitching is wonderful! Are you sure it's your first attempt? :)
ReplyDeleteGaby, from Gabycreates.com donated a BasicGrey paper pack to one of my giveaways and when she brought it over she included one for me too! She's a sweetheart! :)
Lovely ornament and box.
ReplyDeleteMy scrap buddy sometimes gives me just the right idea to add the finishing touch to a project.
The sweetest thing a craft buddy did for me was spend time on her vacation hunting for a stamp I was dying to get my hands on. Then buying it for me. She is just the best!!!
ReplyDeleteThis box is fabulous. And you did a great job on the cross stitch too!
ReplyDeleteLove your cross-stitch project Clare. A crafting friend put together a little "craft basket" of goodies when I was sick. She took the time to choose things that I really loved and knew would make me smile.
ReplyDeleteVery crafty, thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteGreat project! It turned out adorable.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't have any craft buddies :( Wish I did!
Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!
I'm also "following" your blog now. You are very creative and inspirational! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Clare, I watched your video and have to admit that I did giggle a couple times when your voice echoed and skipped around a bit, but love the gift that you made and the box is adorable. Im sure whoever receives it will be so happy!
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing that a crafty buddy did for me this year...I have had some major issues with my legs this year and often find myself unable to walk and not only homebound but bedbound many times also. I have a very good friend who knows how much stamping/coloring and cardmaking mean to me that she went shopping with her coupons and used them to buy me some things to keep me busy while I was out of commission. Needless to say the first thing I made was a Thank You card for her, but also appreciated the RAK she did for me. I would love to pass along that RAK to another fellow crafter on SSC who is currently having some health issues. I will be happy to share more details if my name is selected for your giveaway. I would love to help this person out since I know how much a little thoughtfulness helped me. :)
Thanks and *Hugs*

Hi! Fellow cross stitcher here! I have been doing it for years and the backs of my projects dont always look so great either!
ReplyDeleteNicest thing a crafty pal has done....I visit a lot of blogs daily and one lady was so nice as to send me some of the baker's twine. I have been wanting some but have been trying to not spend money so it was nice to have a sample of it from her!
I am a new follower....thanks for sharing your blog hop!!
ReplyDeleteClare, lovely of you to do this, thanks for the chance, have done as you asked and signed on to follow, also leaving this comment. Happy Holidays, love that ornament and your tag, so talented you are!!!
ReplyDeleteA crafting buddy took me out to dinner for helping them out with a problem, so that was very enjoyable evening to get out of the house and eat a lovely meal I did not have to cook!!!
What a beautiful gift for someone...your ornament is lovely and the box is too! Very creative and inspiring! I just became a follower too...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe nicest thing a crafty friend has done for me this year was surprise me with a box of goodies I have been coveting for awhile. It was a huge surprise and I was THRILLED!
ReplyDeleteYour box is awesome and that cross stitch looks great.. can't believe it was only your second time. WOW!
*hugs*
Tracy
Your ornament is absolutely gorgeous. I did cross stitching years ago. Maybe it's time to take it up again. The nicest thing a crafting friend did for me was a really big gift certificate for my birthday this year so I could get all the things I've been wanting. Well, not all, but a nice amount. I'm now a follower. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteWonderful gift and box. I can see why you won for Hero Arts! Happy Holidays
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway this must be! (I'll look at the video shortly). I made a new crafting friend this year while in the process of deciding wheter to get the MM precision trimmer. A very nice lady who already has the trimmer, answered a lot of questions I had, and I totally appreciated it =)
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower =)
ReplyDeleteOh Clare! You are just amazing!! I missed the hop but had to check out what greatness you did ....again! Hugs to you! I love the house : ) The fact that you made it with your hands makes up for the ugly back! That is so precious. Hand made gifts are the best and one of a kind treasures.

ReplyDeleteFirst Clare thanks so much for this give away! I just want to say Thank You for being in our Flickr group and for always providing loads of inspiration. I so love this beautiful card and the staging is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWell I have made some pretty amazing friends this year through blogging and some have become really close friends. I will say that I just recently had a friend email me one day for no particular reason and talk about how much she cared for me and how much she missed me on the Design Team that I use to be on. I was having a very bad day, with bad news from my doctor regarding an hand injury and not being able to go back to work, but her email really made my day. I think that I cried most of the afternoon because knowing that there was someone across the miles that really cared for me was amazing. Another friend recently, who is an amazing and outstanding cardmaker, featured me on her blog and sent loads of traffic my way. I was floored to say the least. There are so many great people in the blogging world and I am so blessed that God lead me this way to meet some of them. Thanks Claire for being on of those amazing blogging friends. Hugs
WOW! love love love your cross stitched ornament. so so clever and beautiful! amazing work, Clare! you ROCK!
ReplyDeleteI love your box and ornament! and, for a second attempt only this ornament looks pretty professional! who cares about the back anyway??? it's the front that matters :)
ReplyDelete
