Throwback Thursday

Today's card is from July 2014! Now for my comments I wrote at that time:

yuck....mostly the only reason I actually finished this card was because I put a lot of time into paper piecing and didn't want to throw it away.

I do love this My Minds Eye woodgrain paper though...

Inspired by THIS pin - I masked off some areas with Post-It notes, and did some inking. I didn't measure the areas because I was too lazy. ;)

Hero Arts // Pattern Hearts and Flowers

Last midterm is FINISHED! A few little odds and ends to tie up here and there before spring break, but after Thursday at 3:30, I am a FREE WOMAN.

Anyways, I digress.
This card is for the Hero Arts Nature challenge and for Virginia's View Embossing challenge.

I was very much inspired by THIS pin, and I used the Pattern Hearts and Flowers stamp set to make it happen.
First I heat embossed the image several times on the grey cardstock, not bothering with masking since I would be covering the majority of it up with some watercolored flowers. Then I heat embossed the flowers on some watercolor cardstock (masking this time around) then colored in using some water and ink pads. Trimmed the flowers out, topped with some gems, and adhered to the base, topped with a Hero Arts embossed sentiment. Ta-da!

Papertrey Ink // Simply Jane

Hi! Just popping in real quick with a simple little number using up more scraps (I tell ya, I've been on a roll)

I die cut the flowers right into the card base using some Paper Smooches dies, but then I wasn't happy with the way they were aligned, so I set the base aside for later use. Looking in my scrap bin, I found a pretty die cut cork piece, and quickly put it together with the base, along with a cabochon and a scrapped vellum sentiment.
