Hey everyone! I'm here today participating in the Hero Arts Summer Catalog 2017 Release hop!
Today's hop is a special one for me, since I'm sharing two projects using stamps from the catalog that I designed. Absolute craziness!
My first card today is from the catalog, and uses the woodblock stamp I designed, Something Magical (pretty fitting title for one of my first ever stamps, eh? ;))...
I first die cut the Star Confetti die die out of scratch paper, and used this to make a mask on some Pool layering paper I covered it with Versamark, pulled away the mask, and heat embossed the stars in clear Sparkle embossing powder.
Then, I heat embossed the sentiment in Gold on some white cardstock, and adhered some sequins.
Finally, aren't this new Unicorn Stamp and Cut so much fun? I think I'm gonna have a hard time not using these unicorns on every other project for the foreseeable future. ;) I heat embossed the unicorns in Gold, then colored them with light pink and grey ZIG's. While I hand cut them out, the set does come with coordinating dies - I just didn't have them on hand.
I adhered the unicorns to the card base, and that finished off the card!
Here's a video of the process...
And for my second card, using a 4x6 clear set I designed, Enjoy the Journey, which was totally inspired by the ending of the animated Peter Pan (one of my favorite films all time)...
This card was literally made last minute, using leftovers from THIS project, so I'll probably revisit it later, as I love the idea, just not particularly the execution.
I just posted a video on the Hero Arts blog the other day on how to make the background. It also used the fun Star Confetti die, as well as Fresh Peach, Ultra Pink, Navy and some Grape Juice to really make it pop. It was, of course, also heat embossed with clear Sparkle embossing powder.
The sentiment is a mix from the new Unicorn Stamp and Cut and Birthday Celebration, heat embossed in white. I was really lazy with this banner, but dangit, I needed to stick a sentiment somewhere on that card! The ship felt too lonely without it! Maybe some fish or birds next time....
Gah, I love how this ship die cuts! The sails were topped with Wink of Stella, and because I'm fool enough to be making a project and video in the wee hours of the morning, I went all out and added some more clear Sparkle powder to the bottom of the die cut vellum clouds.
One last design bit: whenever I design anything from scratch, I like to have mood boards on Pinterest. HERE's a link to my mood board for the Enjoy the Journey stamp set - hopefully it will spark your creativity!
Lastly, but not least, I wanna give a huge thanks to Hero Arts for letting me have this opportunity! You guys are the bestest!
