Hi everyone! Today I'm participating in the September My Monthly Hero blog hop!
This month's kit is particularly special to me because it's my brush lettering! Hero Arts has made yet another one of my dreams come true!!
However, I'll be real: in between not having enough time to craft (moved to a new house, started new full-time job) and breaking my pinky (I never knew how much I used the little guy till now), I had a rough time getting around to making projects for this kit. I usually like to try to make a video to go with each new release, but I simply couldn't get to it. This post will probably be a brief one, because, as silly as it sounds, my hand gets tired quickly when typing with a big ol' splint on my finger.
Anywho, although these cards that I scrambled together last minute don't do the kit justice, they are here nonetheless.
To start of this card, I stamped a variety of leaves (from the main kit stamp set) using Distress Inks onto watercolor paper that I had misted slightly with water. This gave the leaves a watercolored look. I also used second and third generation stamping to achieve the ghost like effect, and to fill in the wreath.
I then stamped my sentiment (literally, my sentiment!!) in Black ink. The "so" technically isn't one of the words in the kit, but it's super easy to mask out letters from the smaller sentiments and create your own, which is what I did here.
The kit contains:

I added a little bit of detail to the leaves with a ZIG marker and a Versamarker, then heat embossed that veiny detail in clear embossing powder for a nice finishing touch. I topped the leaves off with some gems, and adhered the panel to my card base, along with some twine.
Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card thank you for sharing the kit is lovely thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how pretty the watercolors look. They look so soft and feminine. I didn't think I would like the black lettering but I do! Wow, you did that card wit ha broken pinky? I'm sure I did that in high school in gym class. Don't ever do this but I hit a volley ball with my pinky instead of the palm of my hand. The nurse in school wiggled it around while I screamed and she said I didn't break it. I beg to disagree. My dad made a splint out of popsicle sticks and tape. Like you say, you never realize how important your pinky is until you can't use it. I could never do anything as nice as you with my broken finger. Great job!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I'm going to have to break down and do some spritzing on my watercoloring as well. I'm a coward lol Hope your pinky feels better.
