Missing You

...it's been a crazy couple days getting accustomed to Austria, and tomorrow, we venture to Salzburg!

This is just a quick card I made quite some time back....

I used Tattered Angels shimmer spray for the background, and once it was almost dry, I flicked some water droplets on it and pressed a paper towel over it. I removed the paper towel, and that took with it some of the ink, leaving some the white drops you see on the card.

For this card, I was totally inspired by THIS pin - I'm not quite satisfied with how it turned out, so I may try again later. For the flower, I used the Remember set, then inking up only the blossom part of the flower, I used the second and third generation stamping technique to get a more full effect for the flower.

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

The Here and Now

...twenty four hours from the "now", I'm going to be flying across the ocean to spend a semester in Austria!!!!

I just wanted to quickly pop in before things start to get really crazy. First, a card I made a while back just for fun.

I actually can't remember now, but I think I made the pink watercolor splotches with Tattered Angels mist, let it dry, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. Then, I went over with some pigment ink, and cleaned the embossed sentiment off with a baby wipe. It was very techniquey and made me feel like a pro....like Jennifer McGuire herself! ;)

Anyways, onto to that second thing - while I'm in Austria, I hope to blog semi-regularly HERE (and post cards on this blog irregularly). I don't have a lot of set plans for what I'm doing in Europe other than studying, but I'm going to try to post places I'm going to visit when I find out I'm going to visit. So, if any of you international cardmakers see that I'm hopping around to your side of the pond, let me know! We could try to meet up, or, if not, you could give me some tips for must-see/must-do things. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and please say a prayer for my (and my fellow students) safe travels tomorrow!

Happy

...keep those sunglasses on, because I've got another super bright card to share with you today!

I was playing around with WPlus9's Fresh Cut florals (hello, I need their new Fresh Cut Containers...but seriously...too bad I have to save for Austria), trying to achieve THIS look. It's probably just my color choices, but I'm not super pleased with how it turned out. The Studio Calico inks are awesome for the second generation look, and I took advantage of that here, but particularly with the navy ink, the stamp would pick up some of the ink when I stamped the flowers partly over an already stamped image, so the inks started running together, giving it a rather blobby look.

I plan on giving that pin another go, and also posting it here, so you can see the results. ;)

Thanks for stopping in today and God bless!

Happy Little Moments

Hey, I'm over on the Pinkfresh blog today, chattering all about happy little moments! And when I'm happy, I love to go BRIGHT, so make sure you have your sunglasses all ready to go! ;)

For my first layout, I chose to go with the primary colors, using some Neon Brad stickers, colorblock wood chevron (the triangles would work as well), and then some yumminess from the Fresh Inspiration kit.

I have a thing for sticking these adorable enamel stickers right on top of my photos. ;)

I used one of the canvas pockets, and then cut out the circle from one of the transparent cards from the kit. It has such an interesting texture, that reminds me of a summer pool floatie - perfect for this summer themed layout!

I used more bright colors for second layout, using the same staples of the enamel stickers, canvas tag, and wood veneer.

With this one though, I added a bit of washi love to bring out the red in the photo. Only using the one half of the ombre tape can give you more usage if you only want to use one of the colors for a particular project!

Mmmm, I just love me these canvas tags. In general, I like to have my notes and messages on my scrapbook layouts "hidden" so that I can write something really personal if I want to gift the layout to a friend. And why yes, there are more of those dots on my picture. ;)

Hope you've retained your vision after walking through these layouts with me! Have a wonderful day, filled with happy little moments! :)

Thanks so much

I'm popping in with an "old" card today - I have a ridiculous amount of drafts gathering dust right now. I used to write up posts as soon as I had taken pictures of the card, and then just post when I needed to/felt like it, but since school started last fall, I just couldn't keep up.
So the fact that I have around 200 written drafts (combined with the cards I never wrote posts for) should give you an idea of how many cards I haven't blogged yet.
It's pretty ridiculous.
Anyways, here's that card...

This was made for a fabric call a good while back.

Mmmm, just love these Doodlebug gems (and I don't typically go for gems)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless! :)

Hello

I haven't forgotten you, I've just been a wee bit busy lately, with preparing for Austria, work, and quickly fixing up my new photography site.

Pretty much follows what I did for my blog here, but I played a little more with Illustrator, and I dunno, but I just think it's cool that my handwriting in a 'logo'. ;)

Anyways, a card for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Make It Sparkle challenge and Through the Craftroom Door Anything Goes challenge.

This card is just a bunch of my favorite things - lots of die cutting, glitter, colors, and heat embossing! Plus, "making up" sentiments by combining different stamps and die cuts is so much fun!

To make up my little absence (and because I need to pass this on before it becomes "old news"), I decided to give away a Maggie Holmes 12x12 Styleboard paper pad to someone who commented within the past two weeks. Some random scrolling, hand-covering-eyes later, and the mouse has chosen Cristine! Yay! Cristine, if you could e-mail me your address, I'll try to get out this paper pad ASAP to ya! Thanks to everyone who's been so kindly leaving comments - I hope to return them soon, and when I get back from Austria, have more random giveaways. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!
