Adventure's Out There!

...I just love that Up quote, and it's pretty applicable to today - I turned in my passport and ticket itinerary to the school today, so Austria Fall '14 is definitely happening! I'm so excited!

Anyways, here's a card for this month's CAS-ual Fridays (ovals)....

Although it didn't add any dimension, I heat embossed the silhouette image - this helped the black pop up more on the fabric.
Here's the comparison between heat embossed and simply stamped with black ink...

Mmm, yes, much better, don't you think? Still, I did have issues with the black embossing powder wanting to go everywhere on the fabric it wasn't supposed to go. ;)

Thanks for stopping in today and God bless!

You are amazing!

It's my best friend's birthday, and while this card's randomness and colors are definitely not her type, I think the sentiment inside makes up for it. :)

I seriously love THIS set from Simon Says Stamp - so perfect! I'd love it if they came out with a similar set. ;)

This is for the Lawnscaping challenge...

Anyways, my friend's sisters are actually driving up to surprise her tonight (good thing she doesn't read this blog ;)) and I've gotta catch up on some school before then, so thanks for stopping in and God bless!

Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge

...another super easy challenge and card for ya today!

I made this card when I was in a bit of a window-card making phase, and used the super cute Enjoy the Show stamp set. ;)

This was such a fun way to use up some enamel dots! And the Dear Lizzy ticket paper worked perfectly with the circus theme. :)

Check out the rest of the design team's super cute cards this week! :)

This past week has been my spring break, and it has been GLORIOUS! I can't wait to show yinz some of the cards I made during my free time. :)

Anyways, thanks for stopping in today and have a great day!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect challenge

...a quick one I whipped up last night because (not surprisingly) I got my weeks confused and sent in poor Sav an anything goes card for a picture perfect challenge. ;)

Isn't it so homey and purty?

Here's my take, using the cute Party Posse stamp set and Balloons die...

I was obviously inspired by those colors, which I thought would be perfect for a masculine card! And lets be honest - you can never have too many of those!
Oh, and something nifty I finally realized - I've always clear embossed any wood veneer I've colored with ink, because the ink usually doesn't tend to wanna stay. On these stars, I used some silver Memento ink, but instead of embossing them, I just zapped them with some heat from the embossing gun, and oila! Problem solved!
It's just a little something I picked up from Kristina Werner that I'm sure all you stamping pros out there already knew, however, we've already established that I'm pretty slow on picking up obvious stamping/inking tips. ;)

Anywho, if you wanna see the rest of the design team's fabulous samples, here they are, all nice and linked up for ya!

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!

In the West

...a cute little card for a couple of challenges today. :)

This is for the Hero Arts birthday challenge, CAS-ual Fridays #129, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday pearl challenge, and my friend Virgina's new Virginia View challenge!

This card was inspired by THIS pin - I tell ya, there is SO much inspiration to be found on Pinterest!
I was originally thinking I would watercolor the smoke and then stamp the sentiment in white, but I like dimension, so I decided to cut out the smoke instead.

However, I did use some watercoloring! I didn't try to get super fancy with it here - just a grey and black watercolor pencil, and then a black Distress Marker for the really dark areas, topped off with a silver pearl!

Not gonna lie, this sentiment from THIS Hero Arts stamp set may be my favorite stamp sentiment yet. It's just such a sweet sentiment, plus, the font looks a lot like my handwriting, so I can get the feel that I "wrote" the sentiment on the card, with the ease of a stamp. :)
And obviously, the paper the sentiments are on are definitely a different shade of grey than the train - I didn't notice till I had taken the pictures, and I had gone too far then to try to get a better match. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!
